Our Story
Alfie’s was born out of passion — a project crafted by the same team behind Smoque N’ Bones, led by Pitmaster and Executive Chef Alex and his dedicated team. After years in the industry, we set out to create something new: a space where tradition, quality, and bold creativity come together in every bite.
Our inspiration is deeply rooted in the flavours of Italy, driven by a relentless commitment to the high standards we’ve always held — from the sourcing of ingredients to the techniques behind every loaf and sandwich.
At the heart of it all is Alfie, our starter — a living, fermented culture that forms the foundation of our sourdough. Developed over a slow 72-hour fermentation, it brings each loaf to life with exceptional depth, texture, and character.
Our sandwiches are carefully built to honour each ingredient. While we don’t recommend modifications, as they can alter the intended flavour, our team will always do our best to accommodate when possible.
